Pediatric Dentistry

ryan pediatricThe first visit a child makes to a dental office should certainly be a positive one.  Our office takes every effort to provide an environment that is non-threatening and enjoyable for children.  Dr. Carley and the dental team at Carley Family Dental are happy to take the extra time to make the first visit a successful one. Dr. Carley recommends the first visit for an infant occur when the first baby tooth comes in or by the time the child turns one year old, whichever comes first.  These early appointments can provide the doctor time to do an exam and inform the parents of how to better care for their child’s oral health.  For very young children, or those who are very anxious, the doctor often recommends scheduling a time with the office that your child can simply come in for a tour of the office and to meet our friendly dental team and doctor.  We work to establish a good report with your child as soon as you walk in the door.  It is obvious to us that developing a sense of trust with the doctor and dental team is necessary prior to beginning any dental treatment.  Dr. Carley has completed several rotations at a East St. Louis Pediatric Dental Clinic while attending dental school.  With a background in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Carley welcomes children to be seen in the office.
